Born and raised in Hawaii on the Big Island under the raging lava flows of the volcano came the artist known as Will Egli dubbed 'Surftiki'. Name: Ish Ismael Samayoa

Place of birth:  Jamaica Queens New York

ACC Member location: A member of the Las Vegas, Nevada branch

Education: Bachelor of Science in animation and multimedia

Favorite hero: it has to be the man of steel, I have loved his stories since I was a kid and still read them to this day, but Aqua man will always be a close second

Comic book Influences: I am very old school by nature so my influences tend to lean toward Jack Kirby, John Romita, Rubenstien, Jack Cole, Arthur Adams, Dick Giordano, Lopez, and Mc Duffie

Favorite era of comics: dc comics after the crisis era, the company was taking their characters and reinvent them in great well thought out stories(well most issues any way hehehe...)

What big company comic book would you like to work on?: I would love to work on a action comedy version of Plastic Man, focusing on the FBI version of the hero tracking down some of DC comics  greatest villains( OK maybe one or two of Plas's cheesy villains)

Favorite comic book memory: on Christmas morning at age 13 I came across several stockings that had glittered letters that spelled out my name hanging over a fake fire place. stuffed into each stocking was over a dozen comics! I remember sitting under the Christmas tree a tall mug of hot coco sitting on the coffee table reading the books all through that day, thinking this was the best Christmas ever!

BIO:  Ish spent his child hood spending time between being a city boy in New York City half his childhood and being a small town boy living in Easton Pennsylvania. So reading about folks that had two different life styles seemed natural to him.  Comic books and art work have always been part of ish's life. From drawing stick figures as a child, to having his mother reading comic books as bed time stories as a child, there was not a time were a comic book was ever far from reach growing up. As the two loves blossomed, so did the the desire to contribute to the lore of comics with my own art. Ish spends his time working on several up coming projects, doing commissions and giving insight and any free time he has to his fellow ACC members.

ACC Member location: A member of the Las Vegas, Nevada branch

Education: University Honors and Honors French Bachelor of Arts at Brigham Young University, Summa Cum Laude

Favorite hero: DUH!! Wonder Woman

Comic book Influences: Honestly, my love of superheroes started with Lynda Carter in the 70’s and I have been wearing my underoos ever since!!

Favorite era of comics: The New 52 Wonder Woman is awesome! I love her costume and attitude. It’s nice to take it back to her mythological roots. And I know there has really only been one issue but the Superman/Wonder Woman storyline is nerd heaven for a DC chick! ;)

What is your company name and how can people get in touch with you: Custom Costumes by Viva Wonder Woman, www.vivawonderwoman.com, www.facebook.com/vivawonderwoman, twitter at vivawonderwoman and instagram @vivawonderwoman_costumes

BIO: My cosplay/costuming days started as a young girl when I fell in love with Lynda Carter and Wonder Woman. I wore my Wonder Woman underoos everywhere and I would make my own tiaras and cuffs out of cardboard and tin foil. If you would have asked me back then what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said, “Wonder Woman!” and that’s exactly what I did! Now as an adult I make a living dressing up as Wonder Woman and designing and making superhero costumes. Wearing my costumes I've been featured in Night Club Openings, Celebrity Hostings, Celebrity Product Promotions, Cosplay Photo-shoots, Comic Cons, Vegas Media and more. However, the work I am most proud of is my charity and volunteer service.  As Wonder Woman, I visit the elderly in assisted living centers, I read books to kids in Elementary schools, support addiction recovery programs and help with under-privileged children. I am also a proud member of Critical Care Comics, a non-profit organization that takes comic books to kids in Children's Hospitals and Shelters. Find out more at www.criticalcarecomics.org or at www.facebook.com/criticalcarecomics. Finally, I love what I do because as far as I am concerned... EVERYTHING IS BETTER IN COSTUME!! ;)

Favorite comic con memory: The first (of what would be many) pictures I took with child fans

Bio:  43 yrs old, born and raised and lived all my life in L.A.. I began cosplaying at Stan Lee's Comikaze in the fall of 2012 after accidentally finding out about this con while I just happened to be walking around San Diego a few months earlier during Comicon----I didn't even know that other cons existed outside of San Diego, at the time.  I have since been to more than 10 cons, including SDCC and Dragon Con.  Cosplaying has also led to opportunities to get lookalike work as Wolverine, as well as a part in a recent documentary about the X-Men.  I've also had the honor of appearing at a children's hospital to entertain the kids, which has been my greatest cosplay moment, and one that I hope to continue doing.

What is your company name and how can people get in touch with you: Valkyrie Komics, on our facebook page and very soon, the updated website, Valkyriekomics.com

Favorite comic con memory: Wonder Con, our company sold just shy of two hundred issues of our comic Dirge of Viqdis, and that was the first time I realized being in the comic industry wasn't a mistake.

BIO: Cillian Cubstead was born in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1983.  He started drawing Ghost Busters from the couch while watching the show at age four.  He started drawing heroes from comics in elementary school and started creating his own heroes for comics in high school.  He graduated Chaparral High School in 2002 having special notice from National Art Society and the Thespians Society.  After going to Art Institute Los Angeles for a short time he returned to Las Vegas to work on comics.  After looking for writers for years with no luck he decided that his theatrical knowledge of writing screen plays could be adapted to comic scripts.  In 2010 fellow writer Chris Peterson started Valkyrie Komics in the art studio in Cillian’s mom’s house, which is now his house in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Cillian is currently the head artist at Valkyrie Komics and a valuable voice in the Valkyrie Komics Writer’s Room.   He pencils the comic “Dirge of Viqdis,” writes the web series “Bunnyhead and the Revenge of the Lost Boys,” and the upcoming comic series “How to be Invincible.”  He created all of the current artistic looks for heroes in the Valkyrie Komics line up.

Comic book influences: I have been reading Saga and Kiss Me Satan lately; both have gorgeous art styles that keep my eyes pleased while the story keeps me interested.

Favorite era of comics: Here and now. I am a modernist at heart; I love that as artists we are able to create and tell any tale we please. We can time travel with our stories and the possibilities are endless.

What is your company name and how can people get in touch with you: Harley’s Headquarters is my cosplay name. You can find me at facebook.com/HarleysHQ or email me at Kit@Nerdlocker.com

Favorite comic con memory: Comikaze 2012, hands down. It was the first convention that Brice had an artist alley table and we were able to spend the entire weekend with our ACC crew.

BIO: I am always a busy bee. As well as being a member of the ACC, I am also a member of the Very Awesome Girls (Las Vegas). I am passionate about being involved in the arts community and helping others around me. I also write comic book reviews for Nerdlocker.com and I am currently the production manager for a comic book called Dirty Rain.
I have been acting for eight years and have been an art-appreciator for as long as I can remember. It has only been recent that I decided to take a try with the studio arts and I have been drawing for 7 months now; although, I have been a creative ever since I could pick up a crayon. Whether it is sewing, painting, or crafting, I love creating. I hope to one day create a gallery where performing and studio arts combine.
When I'm not busy sewing for the next convention, my hobbies include reading, Heroclix, cross-stich, and hula-hooping.

Justin Gloyd

Place of birth: Las Vegas, NV

ACC Member location: Las Vegas, NV

Education: High school and some college

Favorite hero: Mickey Mouse, Batman, Hellboy

Comic book Influences: Doug TenNapel, Jhonen Vasquez,  Mike Mignola, Walt Disney, Charles Schulz

Favorite era of comics: Favorites aren't really by era, but there's nothing I love more than finding good underground/indie comics!

BIO: Justin Gloyd is an artist/cartoonist/writer currently residing in his hometown of Las Vegas, NV in the United States. He has always drawn and created characters with a spark and life to them since he could remember picking up a pencil. He has wanted nothing more than to create for a living, whether it be for cartoons, comics, fine art, games, movies, shows, etc. He thrives in conceptual designing with speed and creativity as his main advantages. He also conceptualizes and develops stories, scripts, and storyboards at an efficient rate, making him a valuable asset to any creative team. (All of these skills are probably the result of doodling while watching too much Dexter’s Laboratory/Ninja Turtles and reading too many comics.) He has done commission work, as well as designing promotion and album artwork for local musicians, including BeLikeMax.com and BobbyMeaderMusic.com.

Jeremy Lassner

Place of birth: Udorn Thani, Thailand

ACC Member location: A member of the Las Vegas, Nevada branch

Education: Art Institute of Las Vegas, ITT Tech of Las Vegas, but mostly self taught in the ways of Art Fu

Favorite hero: Silver Surfer

Comic book Influences: This may take a while. Jim Lee, Adam Hughes, Claudio Castellini, Scott Clark, Whilce Portacio, Frank Cho, Joe Mad!, J. Scott Campbell, Marc Silvestri, Travis Charest, Tim Vigil, John Buscema, Neal Adams, Alex Ross, Todd McFarlane. And then the non comic influences....Drew Struzan, Luis Royo, Dan Luvisi, Norman Rockwell, Boris Vallejo, Glenn Keane, Chris Sanders, Brianna Garcia.

Favorite era of comics: I would have to say the "Modern Age" of comics. I really started off collecting comics because of Jim Lee, and Todd McFarlane, and they started penciling comics in the late 80's, though I started collecting in '91 when X-Men #1 came out.

What is your company name and how can people get in touch with you: While I do not have a company of my own yet, I work for two local companies. I started out editing books and doing concept work for Onward! Comics, and now I am also working for LFDF (Live Free Die Free) Comics as an inker and soon may even be collaborating on a book in which I will be penciling.

Favorite comic con memory: WonderCon Anaheim 2013 hands down...it's my first major con I was a "Professional" at. I didn't table at it, but I met soooo many of my favorite artists and Hollywood stars, but it was the company I had with me that made it so memorable, driving to and from the con...ahem (Free, Adam, Jasmine, and Mike).

BIO: Was an Air Force brat, so moved around alot. Took up drawing to enter contests in grade school, ended up winning most of the time. Stopped for a while, then started back up when I started collecting comics in '91. I guess I can blame Jim Lee for getting me into comics and art. Getting most of my education from just copying out of comics, I still tried my hand at art school. Wanted to try my hand at the fine arts (ie...painting, animation, concept art). Had fun, learned a lot from my life drawing, and a few other classess. Wasted time (and money) at ITT Tech. Then the Maximum League of Aspiring Artists came around and got me back into comic art again. The Artist Comic Collective is where I got in to creating and collaborating with other artists and writers.
